布和朝鲁 研究员，男，蒙古族，1968年11月17日出生于内蒙古哲里木盟奈曼旗。1990年毕业于北京大学地球物理系天气动力学专业，获得学士学位。1993年在南京大学大气科学系获得硕士学位。自1993至1997在中国科学院大气物理研究所攻读博士，于1997年获得博士学位。毕业后一直在大气物理所从事科研工作。2006年晋升为研究员。2001年5月至2002年5月赴德国马普气象研究所（Max-Planck-Institute for Meteorology）合作访问，合作研究题目为全球变暖与东亚季风变化。2005年3月至6月访问日本东京大学地球行星科学系，针对斯堪的纳维亚环流型维持机理进行合作研究。2006年2月至4月访问美国 University of Alaska Fairbanks 国际北极研究中心，参加关于极地云量变化研究。2003年获得"涂长望青年科技奖"。
主要从事中高纬度大气动力学和气候变化研究。曾参加国家重点基础研究发展规划项目"973"、中国科学院知识创新工程重大和重要项目，负责完成国家自然科学基金项目"冬季内蒙古与新疆地区雪灾的成因研究"。目前主持国家自然科学基金项目"冬季斯堪的纳维亚环流型的维持机理研究"， 国内外学术刊物上发表论文20余篇。
